The Production System Business (PSB) is a document
solution business segment focusing on document solution for the production scale,
characterized by high-speed printing and high-volume document. In this segmen a number of
document printing equipments able to print on a variety of paper sizes, from standard (A4)
size both black & white or color, up to large sizes (A0 and A1) commonly used for
technical drawings.
Since 2005 market segmentation has been divided into 3 market segment groups based on the
value chain in the document production process. This was intended to enhance market
coverage productivity. Generally, the market grouping is as follows:
Demand Generator,
or the market segment representing the demand source for the printing of a document. This
segment generally represents a company of various industries that may require the printing
of documents from the simplest stage such as printing brochures, name cards to the more
complex stage such as accounts statements or billing statement. In this segment the focus
is more geared to means of enhancing the need for digital printing and develop new
applications to support their success.
Demand Specifier,
or the segment that will define a document’s printing requirement and determine where
the document will be printed. This segment comprises advertising agencies, creative
agencies or graphic designers that support the demand generator market segment to
actualize the document appearance or the manner in which a document becomes a part of
supporting their business process in a more detailed manner. In this segment, the focus is
more geared towards introducing the capability of digital printing that support the
communication process between the demand generator and their target market in an efficient
manner.
Demand Fulfiller,
represents the segment more commonly referred to as the Graphic Arts industry. This
segment comprises copy shop, quick printing or commercial printing that are in the
business of document production processing required by the demand generator and already
designed by the demand specifier. For this particular segment, PSB focuses on knowledge
upgrading support from the product or technology perspective required in fulfilling the
market segment demand of the demand generator and specifier and their business
development.
